IVAN LISSANEVITCH
PRO TIER: PREMIER, HIGH PERFORMANCE
Ivanhoe Lissanevitch was born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal, and picked up a tennis racquet at the age of six. By his teenage years, he had become the No. 1 junior and men’s tennis player in Nepal. His passion for the sport took him to Barcelona, Spain, where he trained at the prestigious Bruguera Tennis Academy under two-time French Open champion Sergi Bruguera. During this time, Ivan also trained with world-class professionals including Richard Gasquet, Marsel İlhan, and Lorenzo Giustino.
After competing on the ATP Futures Tour, Ivan was recruited to play NCAA Division I tennis for the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) in Texas on a full athletic scholarship, winning the Southland Conference Championship in 2017. He later transferred to Hillsdale College, where he captured the Great Midwest Conference Championship and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing and Management.
Following his collegiate career, Ivan transitioned into coaching, working with top juniors as well as ATP and WTA professionals. He served as Assistant Coach for the Georgia Tech University women’s team before joining the John McEnroe Tennis Academy in 2021, where he was both Tournament Director and Master Professional at the Eastchester and Harbor Island locations.
A PTR-certified professional, Ivan brings a wealth of experience coaching players of all ages and levels—from young juniors and adult recreational players to elite professionals.
