Gislaine, affectionately known as Gi, hails from São Paulo, Brazil, where her passion for tennis ignited at the age of 12. Within a year, she emerged as a competitive force in tournaments, swiftly ascending to become the state’s number one player the following year. After gaining ITF circuit experience, Gi’s talent and dedication earned her an athletic scholarship to Shaw University, a Division II institution in North Carolina, where she earned a degree in Sports Management.

Throughout her collegiate journey, Gi’s tennis prowess shone brightly, marked by three championship victories, prestigious placements on the All-CIAA team, and multiple accolades from her coaches.

Certified as a tennis coach under PTR since 2008, Gi has dedicated herself to the art of teaching, accumulating extensive experience across all levels and developmental stages of the sport. Her expertise has been refined through various roles, including seven summers at Birchwood Swim and Tennis in Chappaqua. Additionally, Gi has provided guidance and expertise to the Hackley School varsity boys’ and girls’ teams, as well as the middle school team, nurturing the talents of budding athletes with her passion and skill.

As she continues to inspire and mentor players of all levels, Gi remains steadfast in her mission to cultivate the next generation of tennis enthusiasts, fostering a community bound by the love of the game.
