TIA offers weekend match play for players aged 7–18, utilizing the Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) system to ensure competitive matchups. Players are grouped by their UTR for the most balanced and engaging matches.
REGISTER FOR UTR MATCH PLAY
There are three ways to participate in TIA’s UTR Match Play program: Session Enrollment, 10-Pack, or Pay-As-You-Go. All registration options, along with withdrawal, cancellation, and no-show policies, are outlined below.
Important
Registering for the TIA UTR Match Play program does not automatically register you for individual UTR events. To be included in the draw, you must have an active UTR member profile and complete your registration directly on the UTR site. Please be sure to follow the steps below to secure your spot in the draw.

35-Week Pricing: Scaled pricing is offered for Match Play based on the number of junior group and/or private lesson enrollments. Match Play enrollments submitted after the session start date will be prorated.

YOUTH PROGRESSION MATCH PLAY
- New Rochelle: Sundays, 4-6PM
- White Plains: Saturdays, 5-7PM
- Ages: 7-12
- Ball Type: Orange & Green Ball
- Each player is guaranteed one match.
- Timed 1-hour matches.
- 6-game set with a 7-point tiebreaker.
- No-ad scoring.
Any player who withdraws, cancels, or is a no-show for Match Play after the draw is posted will receive a “walkover” on their UTR profile, with no option for a make-up or credit. While this does not impact their UTR rating, multiple walkovers can negatively reflect on their record. This policy is in place to address frequent withdrawals after the draw is posted.
If a player withdraws, their opponent will be notified by email and phone that the match is canceled. If a player is a no-show, no match will take place that evening.
In both cases, players whose opponents cancel, withdraw, or fail to show should contact our UTR Match Play Director, Lukas Michenka, to receive a credit for a future Sunday UTR Match Play event. Those enrolled weekly will have the opportunity to play two matches in a future event.
We kindly ask parents and players to register responsibly. If you have other commitments, please refrain from registering—however, if you become available, feel free to email us, and we will do our best to arrange a match. This ensures a consistently competitive playing experience for everyone.
