The Tournament Team Academy is designed for dedicated tennis athletes competing in USTA Sectional, National, and ITF tournaments. This elite program focuses on refining advanced technical, mental, and strategic skills, enabling students to perform at the highest level. TIA offers the resources and expertise necessary for those aspiring to collegiate (NCAA/NAIA) and professional (ATP/WTA) tennis, connecting players and parents with a network of experienced coaches.
Participation in this program is by invitation only, based on player ability, level of commitment, and a recommendation from the Director of Tennis.
ALJOSA PIRIC, DIRECTOR OF HIGH PERFORMANCE & RECRUITING
Aljosa Piric leads the Tournament Team Academy program. His tennis journey began in Bosnia at age 7, advancing through elite training at academies in Italy and Florida. After excelling in collegiate tennis at the University of Richmond, he transitioned from a career in finance to coaching in 2004. Aljosa has made significant coaching contributions at Solaris Racquet Club, Georgia Tech, Old Dominion University, and the University of Miami, where he led teams to top NCAA rankings and numerous victories. His impact also extends internationally as Bosnia’s Davis Cup captain. Aljosa is excited to bring his extensive knowledge and experience to the TIA community.
ACADEMY BENEFITS
A dedicated coaching team, led by TIA High Performance Director Aljosa Piric, supporting both New Rochelle and White Plains locations. Our team focuses on tennis development, strength and conditioning, recovery, mental strength, and tournament travel.
Our dedicated Tournament Team Coaching Staff specializes in player development and plays a crucial role in fostering cohesion and teaching consistency under our Director’s supervision. This ensures that all players receive uniform and consistent instruction in connection to our TIA Teaching Philosophies. These select group of coaches remain actively engaged with these players during groups lesson, team technical sessions, private lessons, and tournament team travel, ensuring continuous guidance and support.
An initial development plan is created at the start of the session, with the player’s progress tracked by their coach on a monthly and quarterly basis. Mid-year evaluation reports are shared during player/parent/coach meetings to review the player’s development.
SAMPLE PROGRESS REPORT
We will participate in several events throughout the year, with most of our Tournament Team Coaching Staff attending to track and evaluate players’ progress. See below for more details regarding the Tournament Travel Program.
Led by Program Directors, these group sessions focus on technical development in alignment with TIA Teaching Philosophies to ensure consistent and effective player progression.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE:
- Coach-to-player ratio: 3:1 per court
- Program Director oversight: Manages session flow and ensures development goals are met
