RAFAEL ROJAS
ACADEMY TENNIS PROFESSIONAL

Rafael was born and raised in Madrid, Spain. He picked up a tennis racquet at age 11, and his passion for the game led him to compete in his first tournament at 12. Since then, Rafael has been part of the Universidad Europea Tenispain and Federacion de Tenis de Madrid Junior Teams, earning scholarships to further develop his tennis skills.

At 18, he moved to the United States to pursue a college degree and play Division II tennis at the University of Illinois at Springfield. He led the team in singles wins during his first two years and served as team captain during his final two years. Rafael excelled both on and off the court, earning numerous athletic and academic honors, including a 4.0 GPA. This achievement made him the Grand Marshal at his graduation ceremony, where he graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in Business Finance and Economics. He continued his education with a double master’s degree in Finance and Information Systems while playing his fifth year of college tennis.

Rafael’s coaching experience includes working at the Rafa Nadal Academy, where he participated in the high-performance summer camps for juniors as well as high-performance camps for adults. Rafael brings a wealth of knowledge to our our programs and is eager to share his experience with the TIA community.
