Ramiro was born in Foz de Iguazu, Brazil and moved to Spain when he was three. He started playing tennis as early as five and by age six, he had his first federated tournament showing great promise and tennis skill. He has participated in Spain’s All National Championships in their respective categories including 12s, 14s, 16s, and 18s for both individual and teams and was amongst the top ten in juniors during those years. Ramiro has played in the Les Petits As junior tournament in France, which has seen a number of its champions go on to become Grand Slam winners, including Rafael Nadal, Michael Chang and Kim Clijsters to name a few. At 12 he began training at the prestigious Club Atletico Montemar in Alicante, Spain. His tennis career includes ITF junior tournaments and ITF Futures tournaments throughout Europe, Asia and Africa. In 2019 Ramiro reached his best ranking in Spain, 131, which opened opportunities for sponsorships. In addition to his impressive pedigree, Ramiro has trained and worked as a coach in his family’s academy, Laguna Tennis Academy, teaching both juniors and adults. He looks forward to sharing his experience and energy with our TIA community.
