GEORGE DARKO
SENIOR TENNIS PROFESSIONAL

George was born in Accra, Ghana with a natural gift across multiple sports, including tennis.  At the age of 17 his focus turned to tennis and basketball and he trained daily at the Aviation Social Center under the encouraging arm of his coach, Richard Ayi Dartey.  He eventually gave up basketball and focused solely on tennis.

While still a junior, George embarked on his international tennis career.  His hard work and dedication to the sport paid off with highlights including Davis Cup Africa Zone Group III; National Team Ghana; Training Tour at the ITF Center in Morocco; Gold Medal recipient at the All African Games; 2015 Year-End, ATP World Ranking = 2069.  In 2015, George was awarded the Unsung Hero by the Ghana Sports Excellence committee.

Standing tall at 6’5, George’s gentle manner and strong enthusiasm is a perfect fit with our juniors.
