Alex was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. Introduced to the sport of tennis at an early age by his mother, who was an exceptional tennis player herself in Ukraine. Alex quickly found his love and passion for the sport and competed throughout his junior career locally reaching a top 10 ranking in South Africa.

At around the age of 14, Alex began training at the prestigious, IMG Nick Bollettieri Academy and started competing internationally on the ITF Junior Circuit. By the age of 18, Alex was ready for the ATP Futures Circuit.

Soon after, Alex was offered a coaching position at the Real Athletes Tennis Academy in Johannesburg, where he spent most of his junior career. Alex’s student roster grew quickly, with the following of pupils of all ages and levels who thrived on Alex’s enthusiasm. Alex’s true passion and ability to coach students into becoming true tennis players were evident and he found his calling.

Seeking more opportunity, exposure, and knowledge, Alex decided to move to the United States to pursue his coaching career. And in January 2015, Alex helped launch Tennis Innovators Academy in Westchester.
