David was born in Atlanta, Georgia to a tennis family. David’s Mother was a elite player in Chicago as a junior and played and traveled with Donald Young Senior. David followed in her footsteps and picked up a racket at the age of 5 and by age 14 David reached the top 100 in the very competitive section in Georgia. David started training with Donald Young Jr. and catapulted his junior career to new heights and aspirations for professional tennis. At age 16, David’s family relocated to Geneva, Switzerland where he further developed his game style and trained at the critically acclaimed Country Club De Genevé.

After extensive ITF competition throughout Europe, David was offered a scholarship to Florida A&M University to play tennis as a freshman. He then moved back to Geneva, to complete his college education, at the International University of Geneva. He graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration. He continued to play professional level doubles in the USTA Pro Circuit and ITF circuit while beginning to realize he had a gift in the ability to teach tennis. David realized the importance of giving back to the game, and uplifting other players, juniors and adults alike. David is a PTR and USPTA certified world class coach and grew popular throughout the Atlanta tennis industry, not only as a player but as an innovative young instructor. David’s coaching experience ranges from Country Clubs to Tennis Academies and

Universities throughout the Southern United States. David is excited to bring his talents to the TIA family.
