Bernard Dugbah was born and raised in Accra- Ghana. Bernard lived just opposite the Ghana Tennis Club in Adabraka, a suburb of the capital of Ghana. Bernard had a strong passion to play tennis and at the very young age of 8, he started training with the coaches in the club and began his tennis journey. With the aim of becoming a tennis professional, he took his training to the next level and started playing junior tournaments in Ghana and other West African countries.

Bernard started seeing tournament results and his focus and passion lead him to the most prestigious academies in Ghana and South Africa. At the age of 16, he became one of Ghana’s top talents.

Bernard’s success led to professional level play in the ITF Pro Circuit and Futures Pro Circuit in Africa and Europe, after some years in the circuit he began plating LTA semi-professional tournaments in 2012 and has won several tournaments in both singles and doubles.

His competitive career led to a teaching position at the Standard Tennis Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. Bernard holds a certificate in ITF “Play and Stay” for 10U players and has been coaching in the Ghana Tennis Club and the Chandon Tennis Club in the United Kingdom for the last few years.
