Alan grew up in a tennis family where he was trained as a player and coach under the tutelage of his father, Jordi Vilaró, a former Spanish Davis Cup captain, and Francis Roig, Rafael Nadal’s assistant coach. This lifelong experience of being surrounded by world class tennis has shaped Alan’s playing ability and coaching philosophy.

Alan had a successful junior career, reaching a top 300 national ranking in Spain, in a very difficult competitive landscape. His junior career showed promise to compete in the ATP tour. Alan reached a 12.00 UTR in his late teens and and was able to get ATP points in both singles and doubles.

His junior circuit success created interest by many USA universities, finally Augusta University gave Alan a full scholarship to play NCAA tennis. Alan’s NCAA career propelled his tennis once again and lead to traveling the world with professional players as a sparring coach. Alan toured with Spaniard Mario Gonzalez top 150 ITF, and Anne Mintegui top 20 ITF, after gaining success as a sparring coach he moved on to Joao Sousa, a top 50 ATP player, Steven Diez top 150 ATP player, Rebeka Masarova former #1 ITF junior, and winner of Roland Garros Grandslam.

Alan is here this summer as an intern coach and player to help train our highest tier juniors with their journey in the sport.

TIA welcomes you Alan!
