Mohammed (Mo) was born in Baghdad Iraq in 1979, at the age of 6 years old his older brother took him to the local tennis courts and introduced Mo to the sport of tennis. The tennis experience was one that ignited Mo to become a tennis fanatic at a young age, he had fallen in love with the sport by the age of 8 years old. Everyday after school Mo would end up playing 2 or 3 hours of tennis with his brother, soon thereafter, at 11yrs old Mo began taking the sport seriously and it was clear to him that he wanted to become a professional tennis player.
During his teens, Mo trained at the prestigious Alsaid Tennis Club in Baghdad, he quickly became a recognized junior in the academy and was given the opportunity to train with the national Iraqi team. The coaching was helpful in taking him to the next level and further develop his knowledge of the game. Mo went on to play the ATP Satellite tour and the ITF circuit which prepared him for one of the greatest honors in his career. One of Mo’s greatest accomplishments was having the chance to represent his country in Iraq’s Davis Cup team in 2005. 2006, and 2007.
After finishing his active playing days Mo realized that his passion for the sport allowed him to invest his heart and soul into teaching tennis, this was his calling. Over the last 5 years Mo has been a full time instructor in the prestigious Saddlebrook Academy in Tampa, Florida. We are excited to bring Mo to Tennis Innovators Academy to help the development of our adults and juniors.
